"Its the little things in life that brings you the most joy."
I used to look at that quote and thought it was nonsense. The small things? Really? I didn't believe it at all. But now, that perspective have changed. It has most indefinitely changed, that I can't even think of an example where something big would make you much happier than a smaller event....
Today, I recieved my final back, all scored and graded from my teacher. Thank goodness, I had recieved 100% on it. I was overjoyed, I took a picture of the test score and event sent it to twitter. ;) [Soon you will learn I'm a bit too much in love with twitter] Yes, I was quite glad I recieved such a score. But eventually, I forgot about it, becoming caught up the gloomy weather, focused on avoiding getting wet by the droplets that fell from the sky, focused on classes, determined to study hard... Yup. It just slipping my mind that I had aced a final test.
But you know what I can't seem to forget?
Today after class, sixth period to be exact, I was rushing through the wet, icky hallways, headed towards my locker. Many people greeted me, giving me high fives. It's always nice to be noticed, right? But that was only the start of my journey towards my locker and the start of the events that would make my day.
1. I spotted Andrew*, gushed to him about our teacher that raps, and gave him a hug.
while I was giving him a hug....
2. I saw Peter from behind Andrew, and he smiled, his eyes squinting, that you couldn't see his eyes. "STEPHIEEE!" he squealed, and then he pushed Andrew aside to give me a big, enthusiastic hug.
Happy that they were happy to see me (or at least acted like it), with a large smile, I continued my journey though the hall, and then I saw my friend Jared. He was talking with some of his friends, so I was going to decide I would ignore him and past by.
3. But before I could do that, Jared gasped, his eyes and mouth wide, as he stared at me. I giggled. :) He also gave me an amazing, warm hug.
4. Then another friend came up to me, wrapped his arms around me, and wouldn't let me go.
Well, you get the point. So many hugs, so many enthusiastic comments. :P
Life is good.
*Names have been changed
And you see? these little simple hugs had but brightened by day.
The rain is being poured from the heavens, the sky has blinded the sun, but it doesn't matter.
My day is brighter than the rising sun.
